Having celebrated its 50th birthday in 2007, Orchestra da Camera can claim to be one of the UK’s most senior chamber orchestras. Its inaugural concert was given on September 29th 1957 in the Birmingham City Art Gallery and since those early days has travelled all over Central England and, more recently, played in venues as far apart as Exeter, Lincoln, Llandaff, Norwich and also made European tours. During this time the orchestra has built an enviable reputation for its work at festivals and with choral societies in the Midlands and beyond.
